I'M BACK!!!!

Three months is a long time to be away from my blog. I thought about writing several times a day but could not muster the strength to put one more in my day.

Since my last post, we went to Vancouver, Washington to volunteer at Fort Vancouver Historical Site for the months of October, November and half of December. The pace as difficult, as we also had concentrated time with Adam, Carrie and Lyla. Miss Lyla is an amazing little women.

On December 13, we traveled to the Oregon Coast and stayed at Dwain's family homestead to prepare for our kids and grand kids to arrive for Christmas.Well, they arrived. We had lots of food and good times. Then they left. It took me the next week to undue every preparation I made. I gave Lucy a good haircut and I got a haircut too! On to Arizona...

We took a couple of days in Nevada at The Valley of Fire State Park. It's a great place to camp...quiet. Then on to Quartzsite, Arizona. Planning to be in Quartzsite through the end of January.

Since we arrived in Arizona, I have been sleeping 9 to 10 hours a night. I'm so thankful. I've also been able to rest when my body tells me during the day. The weather has been sunny (most days) and I remember why we come to Arizona.  :-D

You can ..... recognize when to take care of your body ... just listen.

You can .....reach out to a friend for support.

  1. I am glad you are getting your sleep! I am also glad you had a nice Christmas with family and friends! Ah, sunny warm weather, it is cold and snow today but tomorrow is supposed to be 45 degrees. It has been a strange winter so far this year. Rather mild, but I like it!

  5. Hi Deb:

I'm new to blogging but am finding I really enjoy it. I would love to make some news friends this way.

I wanted to ask if you have ever tried doing something in the area of arts or crafts and whether you find it helps you or not? For me, it is a Godsend! Art has changed my life from extremely depressing to something now worth living. Even on the days when I don't feel like doing anything because everything hurts I can still look through artbooks for ideas and focus my thoughts on images I'd like to draw.

  6. You should read a new book by Woodrow C. Monte, PhD, a food scientist, researcher, and Professor Emeritus of Food Science and Nutrition at Arizona State University: “While Science Sleeps, a Sweetener Kills,” which is now in print and available on Amazon.com.

The book presents Dr. Monte’s lifetime of research into the nutritional causes of the major diseases of civilization. His own research, along with the research of hundreds of other scientists, is presented in language the average reader can understand and apply to very easily avoid many of the worst diseases that currently kill the majority of people in the civilized world. Dr. Monte has carefully and thoughtfully pieced together the scientific evidence found in hundreds of scientific studies to show convincingly that the single culprit is methanol – a molecule found primarily in canned fruits and vegetables, tomatoes, cigarette smoke, smoked foods, and the artificial sweetener aspartame. Methanol is converted by the enzyme known as Alcohol Dehydrogenase Class 1 (ADH1) into formaldehyde inside the body’s most sensitive tissues.

It is methanol that makes the aspartame taste sweet, and within ten minutes of consuming it, the methanol is released from its chemical bond. Each liter of diet soda contains the amount of methanol found in a pack of cigarettes, and evidence is mounting that diseases traditionally associated with smoking – most recently, heart disease and stroke – are now being associated specifically with aspartame consumption.

The human body converts dietary methanol into formaldehyde in the stomach, liver, veins and arteries, lungs, pancreas, skin, breast, and brain. Dr. Monte makes a compelling case that it is this process, and the disease that results, that is responsible for the epidemics of a variety of cancers, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune diseases like Lupus and Multiple Sclerosis, autism, and Alzheimer’s disease that have exploded over the past thirty years since the introduction of aspartame in the summer of 1981.

The book also contains information and documentation showing that the product’s manufacturers and their friends in the Food & Drug Administration knew the dangers posed by aspartame, yet buried the evidence and released it for public consumption despite the risk. Furthermore, they knowingly marketed it to those research had demonstrated were particularly vulnerable to its harmful effects – diabetics and pregnant mothers. Since that time, adult onset diabetes has more than doubled worldwide, with diabetics dying from the major diseases of civilization at a much higher rate than the average population.

Deaths from Alzheimer’s disease, in which formaldehyde inside the brain destroys memory function, have increased 10,000% since 1981. Neural tube birth defects are up around 70% in the same period of time despite efforts to compensate with recommended folic acid.

The issue is of great personal interest to me, as I had routinely downed several diet sodas a day for years and had subsequently been diagnosed with both sarcoidosis (an autoimmune disease) and fibromyalgia. Since eliminating diet sodas, canned fruits and vegetables, and chewing gum from her diet after seeing the evidence presented by Dr. Monte, all my symptoms have disappeared.

More information about Dr. Monte and his work can be found on his website: www.WhileScienceSleeps.com.

  7. I have suffered through chronic back pain for over 20 years, but certainly not on the order of the pain associated with fibromyalgia. I have consistently searched over this period of time for natural methods to achieve relief since, on principle, I reject the notion of drugs or the prospect of surgery. Over the last two years I have developed a natural method that has provided me an impressive level of relief, as it has for many others with a wide range of chronic pain conditions. Several fibromyalgia sufferers were impressed with the improvement in relief they received. If you like, feel free to download a white paper I developed that reflects the experiences of some of the users of this method. You find it at www.smartenergetics.com/community/read-reviews, and I hope the information is helpful to you.

    take care, thom
