"God Knows What He Is Doing"

"God Knows What He Is Doing"

Dolly Parton

I watched The Nat Berkus Show this morning. His guest was Dolly Parton. As she spoke to a gentleman who lost his wife during childbirth, she made the above quote as part of their conversation. When I heard the quote I immediately thought about myself dealing with Fibromyalgia. I'm sure most of us have wondered why the Good Lord gave us this disease. Because there is no cure, we are left to cope with a variety of symptoms as long as my arm.
I go on blind faith that God knows what he is doing.

  1. I always try to remind myself that God can NOT make a mistake! It's hard sometimes though~like today! I can barely move my neck and I HAVE to take my mom for a test today! Sometimes I just feel like SCREAMING at my body, but then I realize that I would just as much be screaming at God for allowing me to suffer this way.

  3. I am trying to remember that on a daily basis. I know God wanted Mom home, but I keep pointing out to him how much I needed her here. I am trying not to be selfish about this whole thing, but faith is what I need most right now. So far, my faith is still strong, although like the child that I am at times, I ask why?????

I hope your painlevel is not high today for you!

  4. I still ask WHY about so many things, I should know better at my age. God is in charge, most of what happens in my life is out of my control. I think that is the worst, the loss of being in control. the FM controls me..but God doesn't make mistakes..
    hang in thre girls..

  5. Wait a second... God doesn't make mistakes? That's not in the Bible. I've lost count of the number of mistakes made- including a flood to wipe out 99.99% of humanity because he considered us a huge mistake. If God is in charge, then I find that a little terrifying.

I sincerely hope you all feel better since Fibro is a terrible, mostly unknown disease. Take care.

  6. I completely understand from so many points of view, mainly with my Mom- she has been a fibro suffer now for more then 20 years, she and my Dad have been the care takers of my multiply disabled brother until he passed away 17 months ago- she continues to work with the disabled now but it's not with out the aches and stiffness, the IBS, fatigue, anxiety you name it she has such a severe case of it and it's hard to watch her go through what she does. I do know she has been using something called The Elite Sheet, it's been so wonderful and it has helped her to get sleep at night and not toss and turn in pain. If you would like information I will list there websites below- I know they are on face book, I am glad to follow your blog.
Thanks for your information and I hope there will be a "normal" again.
