"God blesses us in spite of our lives, not because of our lives."
Max Lucado
When I read this quote, I agreed. Then I started thinking of my blessings. Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue have allowed me to be more aware of my blessings and to enjoy them. God has blessed me with an amazing family, special friends and a lifestyle that is conducive to my Fibromyalgia pain.
When you are in constant pain and exhausted, you don't always think of your blessings. Usually we are ready to punch someone! When I take a walk, I look at the flowers closely, rather than just passing by. While with my grandsons, I notice the freckles across their noses. My granddaughter has soft curly hair like her Dad, my son. It would be easy to look past these small characteristics. Because my lifestyle has slowed, I am able to appreciate the little things in life. I hope you do too.
I couldn't agree more with what you've said about being Blessed. I'm far more aware of the precious things in my life than I have ever been.
ReplyDeleteGood Post.
I agree Debbie!!!! Because FMS I am able to be with Mom and enjoy the time we have together and the time I have with my students. I more appreciate the little things in life now then before.
ReplyDeleteDear Deb. I have Fibromyalgia also for over 11 years. I've been taking Lyrica for less than year. At fiest I took it in the morning 50mg but it made me feel weird, so the doctor said take it at night. I did but kept feeling bad during the day. Recently, I My Fibro become progressively worse so I'm now taking 50mg in the morning and and 50 mg at night. Bingo-I'm a new person. You don't have to suffer any more or beg for pain killers, they don't work anyways for Fibro. It's a nerve damage and the Lyrica it for THAT. I just started ablog on Fibro also. I'm not good at it yet. GOD bless. write me back. sarale41@earthlink.net
ReplyDeleteI know that Fibromyalgia slowed me down and showed me what the real important things in life are. My family and my friends and making time to notice the little thngs in life. I thank God for that even if it had to take fibromyalgia to wake me up.
