Need Extra Batteries???

I recently read, "Keep a stash of extra batteries." They were referring to keeping extra batteries in case of an emergency. I often think that "MY" batteries run down.

Fibromyalgia/Chronic Fatigue depleats your energy faster than you can blink. Well, maybe not that fast, but faster than most people could understand. Not only is your energy depleted, but because of a malfunction of the central nervous system, the pain is unbearable. You must learn what works for you to regain your strength and what takes the edge off your pain. For me, rest replenishes my physical and emotional strength. Prescription medication helps with my pain.

So...do you have an endless supply of batteries? When you are run down, exhausted, with no strength to continue, how do you replenish your energy?

  1. Hello Debbie. I understand this I sit in my big window in the sun with hot packs on and dream of warmer weather. Take care. B

  2. I, too, have prescription pain pills that help. Resting a lot helps too. I am glad I work here at home so that I can rest in between students.

  3. When pacing myself doesn't work I go into hibernation for a while. Soft lighting, quiet music, my favorite tea and a good book or movie helps take my mind off things. My rheumatologist just started me on a new drug called Vimovo which is a combination of naproxen and nexium. Pain relief without the stomach issues. It is expensive though. I think my insurance may balk at it soon.

  4. I am the same way..when the pain is too much, I just give in to it, take my pain pills and go back to bed and hibernate..I don't want to be around anyone when it's flaring.. Will have to look into the Vimovo at my next Rheumy appt. always looking for that magic pill.

  5. I have lots of energy problems. I still work full time so I'm in the habit of taking a nap in my office at lunch time. I've freaked many a colleague out because they've come in my office and I was resting on the floor under my warmest & softest fleece throw.

  8. I find that if I can push myself to practice my clarinet or piano, I feel sooo much better. It takes my mind off of being tire, and I gain energy from it.

  9. this might sound crazy but I find a small bit of aerobic excerise helps me alot and I dont feel pain when I am moving, the pain really starts when I stop...I also take a omega 3 tablet high in EPA which is good for inflammation
